Am I SHUT UP?!

A confession.

I had a bit of an obsession with What Not to Wear (on TLC) while I was sick. We didn't even have cable before that, but we figured I had a lot of "couch time" ahead of me so we got it. I used to watch this show back in Milwaukee and liked it but Clinton Kelly wasn't the co-host yet. ANYWAY, I found it again and started tivoing every episode. I feel sorry for everyone who came to visit me. I made them watch it too. I wandered around awake at night (steroids) rubbing my hands in a devious way while I came up with schemes to get nominated for the show. Obviously, nothing came of it, but I'm so glad there was something else for me to obsess over besides cancer all the time.

My friend found out that Clinton Kelly was coming to St. Louis, she got us reservations. He is even nicer in person. He was very gracious and interested and never acted like all of the freaky obsessed women were a bother. So now we're best friends and even have BFF necklaces and plan on going shopping together bi-weekly. Maybe not, but it was a really fun day.

Oh yeah, and here is my hair. It's dark, huh? I don't like when it makes a vampire point like that. I went back and forth about wearing my wig to this, but I thought it would be better if I looked cancery. It got me front of the line again! Cancer really is the gift that keeps on giving. I get a lot of compliments on it but I do not like it. I sometimes feel that people feel a need to say how cute it is to make me feel better. I think I look a little like I like the ladies, woo woo! I think a hairstyle like this takes a lot of confidence to pull off and I'm not really there because I didn't choose it, you know? I blush all day when I'm in public like this. But it is hair and I am grateful!!

Awesome. I am so jealous! You'll have to pass along what you learned. You look really, really pretty shel and hardly like you like the ladies. It's growing. It looks much longer than it did in CA. You are beautiful shel!! I love you.

I think it looks great.

I just want everyone to know that I am not the nice friend that got her tickets. I just came along for the ride and snuck into the picture. Teri Buhler deserves all the credit. She is awesome. Love you Shel!

Shelby, I can honestly say that people aren't saying it is cute just to make you feel better! You have a perfect face for any length of hair! How fun to meet Clinton. That is a fun show!

I'm so jealous. Were you so nervous about what to wear? I would have been freaked out. I can't believe your hair is that dark, and I can't believe it's coming back that fast. I can't wait until you have long hair like you did before all this happened. And no matter what you say about your hair, I think your FACE is beautiful.

Trav says he thinks your hair looks good. And he wouldn't say it if he didn't think it :).

Remember that girl we saw in Aeropostale in the mall when I was out there? I just blew up your picture and I think it looks like that. Like a pixie haircut.

And did I mention that I love Amy Cima?

After reading a little bit of your blog, it makes me very happy that I got to take your "do-over" for you. You seemed like a lady with an awesome attitude and I hope things go well for you in the future.

Don't worry about your hair! I stood behind you for 20 minutes and thought it was a great pixie cut.

That's so fun! I also was wondering how long it takes to pick an outfit to wear when you're going to see someone like Clinton Kelly.

Your hair looks really good! Soon you'll be able to do that cute hairstyle from when you were chopping it all off. You know...the one with the ribbon around your head. It was super cute. Also, congrats on the house! Yeah!

Also, I left a beauty "school" once (school being the operative word here) with a haircut shorter than that and you pull it off WAY better!

I think your hair looks super cute, Shelby. Not many people can wear a pixie cut and look good, but you definitely can.

ooooh shelby you look hot! Seriously. You not only pull it off, I think you look as beautiful as ever. I'm sad that you don't like it, but I think you look amazing. Very Halle Berry.

I want to hear more about the day.

Dang, when I first saw the picture I thought it meant you were going to be on the show - but still, you met Clinton! That is so awesome. And now you'll never get nominated because he saw you in person and he knows you're not frumpy or fashion-challenged. You blew it! I love you as a brunette, by the way.

I haven't ever commented on your blog before, but i lurk. It is sad that it took a post on Clinton to make me come out. Not 'come out' like I like the ladies (woo, woo), but come out of lurking on your blog:). Anyways, I really love your hair. I am glad that cancer gets you to the front of the line. You deserve it! Did you wear pajama bottoms? I would have. Then you would have been on the show and your hair is already so cute that Nick wouldn't want to ruin it. He is that show's weak link. Was Clinton stoned or just really tired? I am really jealous. I love Clinton. Congrats to you! I am glad that you are doing better.

I know that you didn't choose the short hair and I understand what you are saying (writing, that is). But I must say that I think you look wonderful. I am totally in to short hair, and you can wear it like it was meant to be like that (BTW I am happily married - so this is not a proposal *LOL*).
I don't know who this Clinton Kelly guy is, but out of what you write and all the comments I kind of get the idea :-)
